Chapter 8 — Data Analysis and Probability
This chapter introduces students to the essential tools of statistics and the logic of probability to help them interpret information from the world around them. The main goal is to teach students how to calculate measures of central tendency—mean, median, and mode—to summarize data sets effectively. Students will also explore theoretical probability, learning how to predict the likelihood of independent events using tree diagrams and tables. By analyzing different types of graphs and data displays, students and parents can see how math is used to identify trends and make informed decisions based on evidence
