When dividing integers, the number on the left is howmany we counters we have
The second number is how many in each group
The answer will be how many groups there are
OR
The second number can be the number of groups
The answer is how many in each group

DIVISION WITH NEGATIVE INTEGERS:
The number on the left is still what you begin with
If the second number is negative, it means that you want toget rid of the chips that you currently have
Note: to get rid of any chips, you must create zero pairs
Dividing by “–8” means that you want to get rid of all the chipsin EIGHT groups
The answer will be the number of chips in each group to cancelout all the chips you had at the beginning

DIVISION WITH NEGATIVE INTEGERS:
You begin with 10 red chips
Split the chips into two groups
You begin with 10 yellow chips
Eliminate all the chips bycreating two groups
You begin with 10 red chips
Eliminate all the chips bycreating two groups
So now there are five red chipsin each group
Each group needs five red chipsto cancel the original 10
Each group needs five yellowchips to cancel the original 10
